Refugee Resettlement
The U.S. Refugee Resettlement Program provides permanent protection and resettlement services to refugees who cannot return to their home countries due to persecution. Refugees are processed overseas through the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program and resettled with assistance from nonprofit organizations. The program includes initial resettlement support, employment services, and pathways to permanent residence and citizenship. Annual refugee admissions are determined by the President in consultation with Congress.
