Family Reunification

Family-based immigration allows U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents to sponsor certain family members for green cards. Immediate relatives of U.S. citizens (spouses, unmarried children under 21, and parents) have no numerical limits. Other family categories are subject to annual quotas and waiting periods. The process involves filing petitions, waiting for visa availability, and completing consular processing or adjustment of status.
